Multi-platinum selling pop icon Debbie Gibson returns to her hometown of Long Island, N.Y. to surprise her longtime manager and friend Heather Moore with a ranch-style home makeover on SECRET CELEBRITY RENOVATION airing Friday, July 29 (8-9 PM, ET/PT) on CBS Television Network and available for streaming on Paramount+*. Debbie is joined by Survivor’s “Boston Rob” Mariano as the general contractor and interior designer Sabrina Soto (“Design Star,” “Trading Spaces”) for the three-week project.
In the episode filmed at Heather’s Huntington Station home, Debbie shows her knack for effortlessly blending fabrics, eras and styles in an approach she describes as “casual and collected.” Her kitchen features a creamy neutral wallcovering that lets the surrounding woodwork shine, while a casual grouping of straw hats reinforces the vibe. In the dining room, a modern armchair and antique dough bowl share a table with an iron-and-glass coffee table, a perfect example of Debbie’s approach to mixing things up.
Outside the home, Debbie is a sought-after inspirational speaker for women’s conventions and business organizations. She’s also an accomplished painter and author, writing about design and home improvement topics for a variety of online publications. In fact, she double-majored in earth sciences and creative writing, earning a bachelor’s degree from Northland College. In addition to her DIY work, she’s appeared as herself on a number of talk and lifestyle shows, including Grindhouse Radio. She’s also made a handful of acting appearances, notably as Hope Lorca on the TV series Wicked Wicked Games and as herself in a episode of the TV show Baywatch.
